Interlock is a double-knit construction made by interlocking two layers of knit loops, which gives it a smooth face on both sides and a naturally balanced stretch. It’s more stable and substantial than single jersey, but usually softer and more flexible than thicker structures like double knit.

Interlock made from 100% cotton feels soft, breathable, and gentle against skin, while 100% polyester interlock feels smoother and tends to keep shape with easier care. cotton–polyester blends balance comfort and stability, and adding spandex improves recovery so the fabric holds its fit through wear.
